When you write in, it helps to include your device and OS version (e.g. iPhone 17 Pro, iOS 26) and a short description of what you expected versus what happened.
Requirements
- iPhone / iPad: iOS 17 or later.
- Available in English, Portuguese, and Spanish.
How whatnow works
- Choose how many people are deciding (2–20).
- Pass the phone — each person privately taps the categories they're in the mood for.
- Tap Draw. whatnow picks one activity from what you have in common.
Adding your own categories & activities
Open the Categories tab to turn categories on or off and to add your own. Creating unlimited custom categories and activities is part of the one-time "Unlock Customization" purchase; the free version includes all default categories plus one custom category and a few custom activities.
Restoring a purchase
If you reinstalled the app or switched devices, open whatnow and use Restore Purchases on the unlock screen. Purchases are tied to your Apple ID and can be shared through Family Sharing. If a purchase doesn't restore, make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID you bought it with.
Common questions
The app says "no overlap" or won't draw
A draw needs at least one category in common. If no one shares a category, pick again — and make sure at least one category is enabled in the Categories tab.
My custom categories disappeared
Custom categories are stored on your device. If you deleted and reinstalled the app, local data is removed with it. Your purchase can still be restored (see above), but custom content you created is not backed up to a server.
I can't add more categories
The free version allows one custom category and a few custom activities. Unlock unlimited customization with the one-time purchase on the Categories screen.
