Privacy Policy
whatnow is built to need nothing about you. It runs entirely on your device, has no accounts, and collects no personal data. We don't run servers that receive your activity, and we don't track, profile, or sell anything.
Last updated: June 22, 2026
The short version
- whatnow works entirely on your device. There is no sign-in and no server that receives your data.
- Your custom categories and activities are stored locally on your device.
- We use no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party trackers.
- The only optional purchase is processed by Apple — we never see your payment details.
- We never sell or share your personal information, because we don't collect it.
Who we are
whatnow is developed by Junior Brito ("we", "us"), operating as brito.ai, based in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact privacy@whatnow.click. For the purposes of the GDPR (EU/UK), PIPEDA (Canada), and the LGPD (Brazil), Junior Brito is the data controller / person responsible for any limited data described below.
What whatnow stores, and why
Where your data is stored
- On your device: your categories, activities, and a local unlock flag. Removing the app removes this data.
- With Apple: the record of your one-time purchase, managed by your Apple ID / App Store account (including Family Sharing, if you use it). This is governed by Apple, not by us.
whatnow does not operate a backend that receives your data. There is no database of your categories, activities, or usage.
Third-party services
whatnow relies only on Apple's platform:
- Apple — the App Store and StoreKit handle the optional in-app purchase and entitlement checks. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
We do not send your data to any other third party, and we do not use any data for advertising, profiling, or training AI/ML models.
Legal basis for processing (GDPR)
Where the EU/UK GDPR applies: because whatnow processes your content only on your device and we do not collect personal data, there is no server-side processing by us to base on a lawful ground. Any optional purchase is processed by Apple to fulfill your request (Article 6(1)(b) — performance of a contract). whatnow does not carry out automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects (GDPR Article 22 / LGPD Article 20).
Your rights
Depending on where you live — including under the GDPR (EU/UK), PIPEDA (Canada), LGPD (Brazil), and the CCPA/CPRA (California) — you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data, to withdraw consent, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Because whatnow keeps everything on your device and collects no personal data, you can exercise these directly by managing or deleting the app's data (see "Deleting your data"). For any question, email privacy@whatnow.click and we will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law (within 30 days under GDPR). You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
For California residents (CCPA/CPRA): we do not "sell" your personal information, and we do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Because we do neither, we do not provide a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link.
Deleting your data
- Reset in-app: delete custom categories and activities, or reset to defaults, from within whatnow.
- Delete the app: uninstalling whatnow removes its local data from your device.
- Purchases: the record of your purchase is held by Apple; manage it from your Apple ID account settings.
Data retention
We do not retain your data on our servers because we don't collect it there. On-device data persists until you delete it or uninstall the app.
Children
whatnow is not directed to children under 13 (or, where the GDPR applies, the minimum digital-consent age set by your country, which ranges from 13 to 16), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of whatnow after a change means you accept the revised policy.
