What is whatnow?
whatnow helps couples, friends, and families decide what to do. Everyone privately picks the categories they're in the mood for, then the app draws one activity from what you all have in common — no debate, no "I don't mind."
How does the draw work?
Each person selects categories in secret as you pass the phone. whatnow finds the categories everyone (or the most people) chose, then randomly draws one activity from that overlap. Tap Draw again for a different pick.
How many people can play?
From 2 to 20 people. It works great for couples, roommates, friend groups, and families.
Is my data private?
Yes. whatnow runs entirely on your device, has no sign-in, and collects no personal data. There are no analytics, ads, or trackers, and nothing is sent to a server. See the Privacy Policy.
Do I need an account or internet connection?
No account, and no internet needed to decide. A connection is only used by Apple's App Store for the optional purchase.
What languages does it support?
English, Portuguese, and Spanish. whatnow follows your device language automatically.
Can I add my own categories and activities?
Yes. The free version includes all default categories plus one custom category and a few custom activities. The one-time "Unlock Customization" purchase removes those limits for unlimited custom categories and activities.
How much does it cost?
whatnow is free with all default categories. Unlimited customization is a single one-time in-app purchase — no subscription. The current price is shown in the app before you buy.
How do I restore my purchase?
Open whatnow and tap Restore Purchases on the unlock screen. Purchases are tied to your Apple ID and work with Family Sharing. See Support for details.
What happens if no one shares a category?
A draw needs at least one shared category. If there's no overlap, the app asks everyone to pick again — no peeking at each other's choices.
How do I delete my data?
Reset or delete custom categories within the app, or uninstall whatnow to remove all local data from your device. Your purchase record stays with Apple and can be restored later. Details on the Privacy Policy.
